Job Summary
- Provides direct patient care, within their scope of practice, under a physician’s supervision.
- Assists in the assessment of the physical and psychosocial needs of patients.
- Performs clinical job duties as defined in orientation.
- Provide patient care according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Safely administer medications following hospital policy and procedure, within their license’s scope.
- Records all documentation accurately in the EHR.
- Compliance with HIPAA policy and procedures.
- Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with EMTALA regulations.
- Communicates a positive and caring attitude towards the patient and family.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Graduate from an approved Paramedic Program
- Current Paramedic License in the state of Louisiana
- Registered Paramedic with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
- Maintain current CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, & MOAB – available onsite
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or Hospital Experience – preferred

- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficient in the use of computers.
- Effective planning, organizing, and time management skills.
- Ability to identify medical emergencies and assist with management.
- Skills in dexterity for moving and positioning patients.
- Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting patients.
